Organizational Structure and The Chain of Command

Legacy schools like Woodrow Wilson High School work best when there are clear lines of responsibility when community members have questions, concerns, or feedback to share. The chain of command is designed to clarify who you reach out to when you need assistance. Most of the time, the first person to reach out to is your child's teacher or coach. They are often the closest to the problem. If you have academic concerns, start with your child's teacher. If the teacher cannot resolve it, reach out to the department chair over that content. If the department chair cannot resolve it, route it to the assistant principal over that content. If the assistant principal over that content cannot resolve it, then reach out to the principal. 

For behavior, social, emotional, college, career, and military readiness needs, start with the child's teacher or counselor. If they cannot resolve the question or concern, reach out to the assistant principal over that grade level. 

For athletics needs, start with the child's coach. If they cannot resolve the concern, reach out to Athletic Coordinator Keylon Kincade. If he cannot resolve the concern, reach out to Assistant Principal Randall Shaw, who is over athletics. 

The goal is always to resolve issues at the campus level. Nevertheless, if your issue has not been resolved at the campus level, reach out to Woodrow Wilson Feeder Pattern Executive Director Aaron Aguirre-Castillo, then Dallas ISD Regional Superintendent Dr. Nancy Bernardino.
